Olga Esina

About Me



Olga Esina was born in Saint Petersburg (Russia) where she was educated at the Vaganova Academy from 1996–2004. From 2004–2006 she was a member of the ballet of the Mariinsky Theatre where she danced, amongst others, Odette/Odile in “Schwanensee”, Königin der Dryaden in “Don Quixote”, Fliederfee in “Dornröschen” as well as several parts in Georges Balanchines “Apollo”, “Die vier Temperamente” and “La Valse”. In 2006 she joined the Wiener Staatsballett and in 2010 she was appointed First Soloist.

She has appeared as guest dancer in Hungary, France, Argentine, Italy, Russia, Germany, England, Spain and in the United States.

Awards and honours: Nomination for the Prix Benois de la Danse (2006 and 2012) and for the Taglioni Award (2014), Prix International from the magazine “Ballet 2000” (2008).
